Positioning the Black Sea region as a leading wine tourism destination

The 29-month SeaOfWine project, implemented within the Joint Operational Programme Black Sea Basin 2014-2020 funded by the European Neighbourhood Instrument, is to help wine and travel sector businesses and stakeholders in the four participant countries (Georgia, Greece, Ukraine, Armenia) develop common approaches for presenting and promoting their products and services.

The project helps wine and travel businesses showcase their offerings while travelers and wine lovers through this website have access to a comprehensive online database and an opportunity to plan their trips wherever they are.

Project partners have prepared the Report on Background project analysis that capitalizes upon existing EU projects and best practices of macro-level significance EU & Black Sea regarding local and regional tourism development and social entrepreneurship, developed the country-level comprehensive database of the wine tourism sector: wineries, grape varieties, wines, wine-related HORECA, travel agencies working with wine packages, wine events in each country, have created country-level thematic wine routes – 6 for Armenia (21 wineries), 6 for Georgia (25 wineries), 10 for Ukraine (49 wineries), and 13 for Greece (60 wineries).
